Description:

With a background in photography acquired in Colombia and France, where she worked in the Societé Français de Photography. Between the 1970s and the 1980s she participated in important exhibitions such as the III International Photography Exhibition of Moscow, the FIAP in Paris, in Habana or in Berlin. Her experience in photoggraphy was the starting point of her interest in people and cultural diversity. Therefore, she participated in different audiovisual productions, such as the documentary "A light has been turned off" (Paz Bilbao, 1994) or the movie "Steps" (Federico Luppi, 2004). Later on, she directed "Mirada de Cóndor" (Colombia, España, 2002), "Camino de Luz" (España, India, 2004) o "El Sur desde la Mirada de Sus Mujeres" (España, Bolivia 2005) Cecilia always gave her work a social approach, advocating on women and indigenous communities rights, marginalized or affected children by HIV and environment risks. She also worked for NGOs such as ENDA, in Bogotá, Medicus Mundi in Spain and UNICEF. Currently she is working on her fourth documentary and taking part in projects related to the mentioned before organizations.
