ENCOURAGING BIODIVERSITY AND THE INTERCULTURALITY PRATEC is an organization without commercial profit, aiming at reinforcing Amazonian Andean culture and agriculture. It focuses its activities in Peru, and in alliance with local and international institutions it develops educational activities in Ecuador, Bolivia and the north of Argentina. PRATEC conforms a net of Nuclei of Cultural Andean Affirmation accompanying rural and indigenous communities in the execution of actions orientated to the cultural diversity in different regions of Peru. PRATEC promotes activities in four areas: · Formation of technical personnel and professionals in culture and Andean agriculture. · Coordination of programs of reinforcement of the agricultural local biodiversity. · Investigation of the culture and Andean Amazonian agriculture. · Publication and diffusion of the agricultural practices and of the Andean biodiversity.

Synopsis: Today, the effort for understanding and to respect the visions of multiple communities in Peru, go towards reporting the topic of education. The approximation between the Andean - Amazonian community and its rural schools, is a fundamental process in which teacher and communities seek to change attitudes, to convert the school in a place in which the children learn in a nice way how to be in both worlds, the proper one and the western modern one, without eroding their cultural identity.

Synopsis: In the Andes and in Selva Alta, there are ten Centres of Cultural Andean Affirmation, NACA's, as executing units of the Project of Conservation In Situ of the Native Cultives and their homologues in the Peruvian Andes, which carry on their activities in coordination with the Andean Project of Rural Technologies, one of all 6 social institutions that intervene in this project that receives the financial support of the World Fund for Environment (FMAM) and the government of Italy, under the administration of the UNDP.

From bamboo, we do our instruments partying with the animals and cultives.¨, Mariano Quispe Choque of Pitumarca, Cusco's valley tells us. This video shows how the commoners of Pitumarca's valley remembered an ancient way of trade. This path was surrounded by their grandfathers before on foot and with flames and now after several years they went to exchange their cultives, meats, wools and rituals with the communities of Paucartambo's valley.
