UNESCO - audiovisual e-platform

After a long process of restructuring, the UNESCO Audiovisual E-Platform has started a new era represented by constant contact with Festivals and independent audiovisual professionals. In this sense, the project has been presented at “CINE POSIBLE” (www.cineposible.es) and “Festival Residus Millor en Curt” (www. residusmillorencurt.net) and just a few days ago in “Cines del Sur” (www.cinesdelsur.com), an international event taking place in Granada, Southern Spain. At the Festival Cine Posible the UNESCO Centre of Catalonia contributed offering a presentation of the UNESCO Audiovisual E-Platform, in which the DVD 'Public Service Broadcasting' was commented by Rut G. Sobrino, Head of the Audiovisual Department at the UNESCO Centre of Catalonia and the attendees. Later on, at the Festival "Residues, Better in Short", Rut G. Sobrino participated in a round table together with the organizers -Fundacion La Caixa, FEICAT and the Agency of Residues of Catalonia among them- to discuss the importance of involving the audiovisual message in sustainable development best practices. Finally, and with the occasion of the Festival Cinemas from the South, the Audiovisual E-Platform was presented in a round table together with Al Jazeera Documentary Channel, where the obstacles faced by the audiovisual sector in the Arab region were debated. Rut Gomez Sobrino, as well as Mohammed Krichen, presenter of Al Jazeera and Montaser Marai, director of Al Jazeera channel, participated in this round table, where the strong connection between UNESCO and Al Jazeera was underlined.
